Vampire Facial (Microneedling with PRP) Treatment Pre-Care Instructions
When it comes to skin procedures, the preparation for your treatment is as necessary as the treatment itself. Here are some do's and do not's to follow before your Vampire Facial treatment with Unity Collective.

Drink plenty of water before and after your appointment (we reccomend at least 3L/day).

Complete the medical history and consent forms on the Unity Collective booking site (Acuity) prior to your appointment. Review the post treatment instructions below and be prepared to follow them for safety and efficacy of your treatment.
Vampire Facial Treatment Aftercare
Taking care of your skin after your procedure is imperative, it will have a direct impact on your results.
Thank you for joining us for your treatment! Please follow the guidelines below to ensure your health, safety, and optimal results.
What can you expect after treatment?
-
Mild inflammation, redness, swelling, itching and/or soreness for a few days (2-5) – these are common to any injection procedure.
-
A mild sunburn sensation and appearance for 4-48 hours after treatment
-
You may take Arnica pellets (3-5, 3 times a day) until bruising clears, if desired.
-
If there are any tiny bumps at your treatment site, don't worry, this is normal and will go away within a few hours after treatment.
-
It's normal to feel firmness at the injection sites for a few days post-treatment. This will soften over time. You can use a hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic light moisturizer if needed for relief (Cetaphil or CeraVe, for example).

To maximize your results and ensure your safety, try to avoid showering for 48 hours after your procedure. If you do shower, do not directly wash the treated area for 48 hours. Absolutely avoid steam showers or extremely hot showers during this time.

Drink plenty of water to aid in the healing process.

Change your pillow case prior to going to bed the night of your treatment to reduce the risk of infection.

If you wear glasses, clean them thoroughly prior to putting them on. Glasses can harbour bacteria, which can lead to infection.

Do not apply makeup for 72 hours post-treatment. Be sure to wash all of your makeup brushes and sponges thoroughly before applying makeup again.

AVOID touching, pressing, rubbing or any form of manipulation to the treated area for 48 hours after treatment. If you need to touch your face, make sure you have thoroughly washed your hands with soap and water first. Minimize touching as much as possible to avoid irritating the skin and disrupting the body’s natural healing process.

AVOID strenuous exercise and activities (that cause you to sweat) for 3 days after treatment.

AVOID Advil, Aleve, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Motrin and Naproxen for 2 weeks post-treatment as these medications can interfere with the treatment’s effectiveness.

AVOID Nutritional supplements (Biotin, Gingko, garlic, Vitamin E, Flax oil, Curcumin and any other anti-inflammatory supplements) for 2 weeks after your treatment as these supplements can interfere with your results.
AVOID alcohol, caffeine and smoking for 3 days after treatment.
AVOID high heat (sauna, steam room, very hot showers) for 48 hours post-treatment.
AVOID the sun and use a physical SPF daily (preferably mineral-based).
AVOID facials, facial massage, Botox, Filler, or laser treatments for 2 weeks afterwards. Most facial treatments can be done immediately prior to the PRP treatment, but not for 2 weeks after.
Only use the products provided for 72 hours after the procedure unless otherwise directed by your care provider.

Please follow your specified care plan to ensure you are achieving maximum results:

• The evening of your procedure, wash your hands thoroughly, then use a clean, damp face cloth to gently wipe your face and neck (no soap) before bed. Apply the moisturizing serum and repair cream. Please do not scrub your face or rigorously rub in the products.

• Beginning the morning after your treatment and until you run out of provided products, use the following protocol in the AM and PM: thoroughly wash your hands, then gently wash your face with a pea-sized amount of the provided cleanser. Next, apply a pea-sized amount of the moisturizing serum. Allow 3 minutes for this to fully dry, then apply the repair cream. In the morning, it's advised you use a SPF 30 or higher after your above skin care has dried to protect your skin from sun damage.

• You may use the serum as needed throughout the day to relieve dryness, tightness, itching, or irritation.
Most patients will see results within 2-4 weeks. Continued results will be seen up to 12 weeks. We recommend a series of 3-6 treatments administered at 4-week intervals; however, your care provider will provide specific guidance after assessing you.
